Cafe Brauer Chicago Wedding

Lauren and Kenny’s amazing wedding was at Café Brauer in Chicago. It’s a historic building in Lincoln Park, known for it’s prairie school architecture. The couple decided to take their wedding party photos around the nature walk. It has stunning views of the city and so many trees and flowers. Everywhere you turn is a photo-op. It is also right next to the farm in the zoo, once in a while you can hear moos from the cows, maybe they liked the couple?

The color theme was so perfect for this Chicago couple, purple dresses for the ladies and ties for the men. The Bride had make up done by Elise Brill and dress designed by Oleg Cassini.  The bride carried a beautiful bouquet of white calla lilies, while the groom went with a purple calla lily and matching pocket square.

The religious part of the ceremony started with a separate bride and groom reception, this is a time for the guests to entertain the couple separately. It ended with the groom being danced over to the bride for the bedeken or veiling of the bride before the ketubah signing which was a beautiful purple and blue heart watercolor by                Ketubahs.com

The ceremony was surrounded by hundreds of calla lilies. I loved the little flower girl who was gingerly placed the flowers on the aisle, almost like she was leaving a trail so the bride could find her groom. The room was beautifully decorated by Revel Décor with lots of purple accents to warm up the great hall. The cake was made by Zeldas and was very festive.

The party was a huge success with the planning and direction of Stacy Swislow.  One of the highlights of the evening was the incredible hora, a traditional Jewish dance. This was so fun because of the so many of the guests entertained the guests with crazy dances and masks, one guest even dressed up with a bunny costume and hopped around the dance floor. The Videographer from Video Express was quick on his feet documenting all the activities throughout the day.   BKO orchestra had everyone dancing all night long with their amazing sound. Another part of the evening entertainment was the personalized Instant Party Photo Booth with custom props for the couple and guests to take their own photos.

The Bride, Laura had a few things to say about her weddings day: What was your favorite moment? Kenny smashing the glass successfully on the first try, but seriously our favorite moment was walking down the aisle as husband and wife.

What was your favorite photo? The first look photo.

What advice would give to future couples?

Have fun with it and enjoy your special day!

Q. What was your favorite part of your wedding?

A. The best part was all of our guests constantly dancing and having a wonderful time. The guests loved the photo booth and had lots of fun with it. The photobooth keepsake album is wonderful.

Q. If any, what part of your wedding would you have changed?

A. Having our family be on time for pictures. That way everyone was included and we wouldn’t feel rushed for time.

Q. What advice would you give a couple searching for photography?

A. The photo booth was an excellent add on and when taking wedding photos, to hire someone who knows what they’re doing (such as Rick) and have fun with it.

We LOVE our wedding pictures and you did a phenomenal job!! Pictures look great! Can’t wait to see the album!!
