Kaitlyn and Mike were married on a rainy day in April, but that didn’t stop us from taking beautiful wedding pictures. We started with getting ready photos at her parents gorgeous home filled with so many special childhood memories. Elise Brill provided make up and John Anthony made sure every hair was in place. The bride carried a stunning bouquet of red roses created by Joseph’s Florist wrapped with part of her mothers wedding dress. The bridesmaid’s dresses were red to match the brides flowers. Weddings are all about the details, I love that Kaitlin chose to wear fake leopard shoes on her big day, so cool! While I snapped away at the bride’s home my assistant photographed the guys in the church, Mike had a great time spending time with his guys.
The ceremony was at their neighborhood church which meant so much to them, it was very touching and personal. The church meant so much to the family that they donated a stained glass window; we of course had to take photos in front of it.
Unfortunately because of the rain we had to take all of the photos inside with exception of one with my huge white umbrella, so fun!
The Eaglewood Resort was so big and beautiful that we had more then enough places to take photos. The room as stunningly decorated with red and white flowers in crystal vases with floating candles to add that touch of warmth. Their wedding band was Rendezvous, who started off the evening with the Notre Dame fight song, they even had champagne glasses with the Notre Dame logo etched on them. The couples shared their first dance to Galway Girl, an upbeat Irish song.
Another one of the details that was so different, the couple had Parker’s Crazy Cookies make custom cookies that looked just like them, it must be so hard to take a bite out of it! The party was perfect thanks to Nancy Eisenberg who kept everything on schedule and helped plan the entire event.
The Bride and Groom shared some memories from their wedding day:
Favorite part-we have two! Mine was absolutely when I stepped out of the bridal room in the church and first caught eyes with Mike. At that moment, all the nerves went right out the window. Mike’s favorite was the first dance set – that’s when we knew we were going to have a party on out hands.
Favorite Picture – How do we pick just one? In terms of pictures of just us two, I love the one of us laughing.
and the one of us walking out of the church
As for advice, I would say not to stress out too much. You will be surrounded by all your friends and family and nothing else will matter on that day! It’s easy to get caught up in the little details. I don’t think we would do anything differently — though of course, we can’t control the weather 🙂
